Klostergut Kronburg was taken over in 2005 by the Sisters of Mercy of Zams. They represent a modern religious community that has, over the years, built a far-reaching and forward-looking network of great social relevance.

The seat of the order, which has officially existed since 1825, is the "Mutterhaus" in the Tyrolean municipality of Zams. From there, the affairs of all its sites are directed.

Since January 2, 2025, Sr. MMag.a Dr.in Barbara Flad has been the order's Superior General.

A holistic view

Energetic.
Warm-hearted. Responsible.

Mutterhaus Zams

The sisters' sphere of activity crosses borders – both geographically and thematically. From Vorarlberg to Carinthia, from South Tyrol to Peru, the order employs more than 1,750 people in medical, nursing, social, hospitality and educational institutions.

A philosophy in practice

A holistic view of the individual with their personal needs, and caring attention in the form of social and professional expertise, are central aims that are put into practice in tangible ways. In every area – from St. Vinzenz Hospital, the Social Institutions, the Katharina Lins Schools and the St. Vinzenz Education Center through to Klostergut Kronburg – a values-based togetherness and respectful encounter are lived out.

With heart and mind

Since the order was founded, the well-being of people has been at the heart of all its endeavors. This commitment is clearly evident at Kronburg, too. Warm hospitality, the finest cuisine, arts and culture, a well-kept setting, space for encounter and togetherness, and a mindfully maintained environment – these are the efforts of the hosts to create a place where all visitors feel at home.
