The very special atmosphere at Kronburg also unfolds through the people who care here for your physical and spiritual well-being. On stage and behind the scenes, the whole team lives a special philosophy of hospitality.

Hospitality personified

Sr. Barbara Weindl

Active at Kronburg since 2012, Sister Barbara Weindl has long been an indispensable part of daily life at the monastery estate. As head of the house at Kronburg and the link to the Mutterhaus of the Sisters of Mercy of Zams, she ensures everything runs smoothly throughout the operation – among the staff, the guests and the sisters alike.

Sr. BARBARA

“My greatest gift: when people take joy in the Kronburg ensemble and leave satisfied.”

Down to earth and open to the world, Sr. Barbara gladly takes time to talk with guests, to listen and to laugh with them. For those seeking advice, she always has a helpful tip. To stay grounded, she suggests marveling at the beauty of nature or resting in silence in "Elijah's Cave" in the Klösterle. That is also where she herself draws strength again and again for the challenges of everyday life.

Operations Manager, Head of Hospitality & Head Chef

Josef Kiss-Haueis

Working at Kronburg since July 2019, Josef Kiss-Haueis oversees the kitchen, restaurant, service and events with great care. His recipe for success is "teamwork." His career has taken him to some of Austria's most renowned establishments, such as the Hotel Tyrol in St. Anton, the Mooserwirt and Hotel Mooser in St. Anton, Landhaus Kutsche in Velden, Stadtbräu Josef in Linz and Hotel Tannenhof in St. Anton am Arlberg. Josef Kiss-Haueis aims to firmly establish Gasthof Kronburg as a fine place to dine and celebrate for years to come.

“Good food is a way of life,
appreciation, and love.”

Encounter on every level

As a hospitality business, the monastery estate is defined by a spirit of service, paired with friendliness, attentiveness, kindness and a feel for people. The Sisters of Mercy and all staff put this into practice with great empathy for every guest. Values such as respect and appreciation also play a central role in how colleagues work together. As an employer, Gasthof Kronburg offers a good working atmosphere, a secure job, a say in how things are done and fair pay.

As a Sister of Mercy, Sr. Barbara is present at the inn, and through her presence she brings timeless values of faith into everyday life and encounters. Whether and how deeply you engage with this is, of course, entirely up to you.

And so the most diverse people feel at home at Klostergut Kronburg with their questions about God and the world, in their search for faith and for the meaning of life.
